Cursor is a [VS Code](https://curiouslychase.com/posts/vs-code/) fork, labeled as an "AI Code Editor".

The interface and experience is the same as VS Code but is different in a few ways.

- **Codebase aware** - unlike [GitHub Copilot](https://curiouslychase.com/tools/github-copilot/) (at the time of writing), the Cursor Copilot++ has context of the codebase.
- **AI first** - Cursor has baked in AI as a primitive, making it easier to use AI as a true copilot.
